The Aiki Energy Action
The Aiki Energy Action
Aiki Energy mission focuses on “visualizing energy” and establishing systems that transform waste and natural energy sources (such as solar, wind, and water) into usable forms. Rather than large-scale energy production, we aim to produce only what is needed at the community level, reducing transportation losses and preventing environmental destruction.
Our concept of “true prosperity” lies in achieving self-sufficiency in energy for our daily lives, providing “security” and “freedom.” To realize this vision, we are pursuing the following initiatives:
- Designing region-specific energy solutions
- Developing tools to visualize and optimize energy flows
- Promoting renewable energy technologies for everyday use
Through these efforts, Aiki Energy seeks to reduce the burden on our planet while establishing a new standard for sustainable living. We aim to create an environment where future generations can thrive on Earth.
Current Energy Consumption and Challenges
Modern conveniences are supported by massive energy consumption, yet we often lack awareness of how much energy is involved behind the scenes.
For example, consider the energy consumed to deliver a small makeup sponge to your home:
- Transportation and storage at warehouses
- Operation of inventory robots
- Server and air conditioning energy consumption
- Energy used in packaging and manufacturing processes
While we enjoy the convenience, we may unknowingly contribute to further energy overuse in pursuit of comfort and security.
The Importance of Visualizing Energy
Visualizing energy flows is similar to tracking expenses in a household budget. By clarifying our “energy portfolio,” we can optimize its use. Aiki Energy aims to provide tools and systems that help reduce energy waste effortlessly.
Building a Sustainable Future
To withstand disasters and other challenges, it is essential to have systems that enable us to produce the energy we need without relying on large-scale infrastructures. True resilience, as we see it, is the ability to create essential resources using whatever is available in the moment of need.
Examples include:
- Utilizing solar and microbial energy for production
- Sourcing tools and materials through second-hand or recycled means
- Incorporating renewable energy into daily life
Next Steps
We are developing tools to visualize energy processes, such as optimizing bioethanol production. By predicting the ideal combination of waste materials, microorganisms, and nutrients, we can significantly accelerate research and development timelines.
To achieve this, we aim to integrate global fermentation data into accessible formats for researchers and developers. Providing such tools for free can accelerate the realization of a sustainable energy society.
Aiki Energy has applied for the Climate Change AI Grant 2024 to collaborate with product engineers and policymakers. Our goal is to propose a new paradigm for energy that reduces environmental impact while creating a freer and more secure future.
